Woven by Berber women for their babies, the Zindekh are crafted somewhat like a tapestry. This utterly unique little rug is a lovely baby's play area !
The Zindekh rugs always have about the same size, roughly 75 x 45 cm, the base of the woven (or embroidered composition is most often a plastic rice bag. Much like the Boucherouite rugs, they are made from wool yarns or recycled textiles.
These miniatures are very free in their composition and color choice, oscillating between abstraction and figurative echoes, reminiscent of contemporary artworks. With a captivating uniqueness, Zindekhs are increasingly coveted by art lovers and collectors.
